Default Remove 100 Gold Tourney Cost

Hi ANet,

Please remove the 100 Gold Norn tournament cost. Polymock doesn't cost anything, so why does the Norn tourney? I really like the Norn tourney, but until such time as you remove that [stupid] 100 gold cost, I will never again play it. It's just rubs me the wrong way to have to pay when the other side of the mini-game coin doesn't. I suppose the polymock pieces might be the cost factor heh?

Bison & Alesia murder me everytime, despite using builds suggested in these fine forums. Then add 100 gold to that.

While I don't care one way or the other -- 100g isn't much -- you make a good point. Why DO we pay for the tourney and not Polymock or Dwarven Punch-Out?

100g is fine. Otherwise, you'd be able to recieve a Crown for free.

Think of it this way instead: You're not paying for the Tourny with Bison, you're paying for the Crown. Some people will pay 500g, others might have to pay 5k. it just depends...

But I think the 100g cost should be removed for those who are defeating the Tourny for the first time to get the skills and Bison Cup. Just my oppinion, though.

yes please, i do it just for the fun of it and the 100g does add up, and if its a matter getting the crown then just increase the number of tokens of needed for it.

It's just 100g. Sure, it adds up - but how many times do you intend to get killed before you win it?

100? That's 10k. Hmm, no one is going to lose 100 times.

It can be pretty annoying. I was trying to get Kahmu the other day and I spent about 3k before he even showed up. Now that was irritating. Maybe add a 100g cash reward upon winning the tourney?

For me, 100g is nothing. I mean you can gain 100g in no time at all, and farm some title rep at the same time

But yes it does stack after a while. Still the crown I just paid someone 500g for one, as it was completing the quest was interested in.

IMO - the only bad thing about the 100g cost is when i forget the cash and have to run aaaaaaaaaaaaalllllllllllllllllllll the way to storage...
It's not too much of a hassle really - although some profit could be made of the tokens as said above

Who is effected by a 100g cost?

1. The rich players with 1,000k in storage

2. The poor people without much gold

I'm gonna put my gold on 2. The rich players will never miss the 100g, the poor players will.

So you think the fighters in the tournament don't get paid? You think Bison is doing all this for free?!?

You people think this life (game) is all about you! WELL, GUESS WHAT, ITS NOT! There are other people too and they need to feed their families. Bison got children to feed man ... show some pity.

Btw, its just 100g. Its not going to cost an arm or a leg. However, the fighters in the tournament can't be doing this for free either. Someone needs to call the Worker's Union onto this thread ...

Maybe they are not fighting for free, but the 100gp a time does add up.

What SHOULD happen, is that if you win, you get the token AND 100gp prize money. So long as you are winning, then you are not losing.

Ferret.

That isn't going to help since the complaint arose because they aren't winning

It is a quest.

Why should I have to pay to do a quest? I should be paid for doing a quest (upon completion... obviously), not the other way around.

Well you must consider the fact that you can get a 5 minutes drunk alcohol item with 5 tokens, why should you get it for free? I mean, there is a right build for each character, just find it and you will always win (except if you meet Mhenlo xD)

Free?

How is fighting a hoarde of specially kitted NPCs one by one counted as getting things for free?
I work for my reward... and more often than not I die with no reward. The very notion that I should have to pay to work my arse off is ridiculous.

It provides a disincentive to "play" in the tournament for pleasure and pastime - remove it, I say.

Yeah, remove it. It is basically the only quest you have to buy for (except FoW and UW), and it is pretty annoying, especially if you just play it for fun.

Given that aside from the gold cost, it CAN be rather fun (e.g. what they did to Alesia).... it is a serious disappointment that it costs so much over time (given that I fail quite a bit... usually against Eve).
